Then we discuss, "What is Primary?" Primary numbers, primary school, primary sources, primary ingredients...? "Hasn't history taught us about primary elements? What two elements mix to make gold???"
I liken the primary colors to eggs, milk, and four. If you want to make cookies, you can't throw in some salad dressing and a chicken foot into a recipe that needs flour... you need to go and get some flour!
When you want blue, you have to go out and get some. Maybe grind up a rock called lapis and add it to some acrylic to get blue paint. And when you want secondary colors, you mix the primary ingredients. As noodles are made from flour and eggs, orange is made from red and yellow. When you want some sauce on those noodles, then we need to add some tertiary ingredients.
