Interview with Bria Goeller & Gordon Jones
Gorden Jones conceived of the iconic image titled "That Little Girl Was Me" of Kamala Harris walking in the shadow of Ruby Bridges, reminiscent of the famous Norman Rockwell painting titled "The Problem We All Live With."
Bria Goeller was hired by Mr. Jones and collaboratively created the digital collage from many sources to create the final digital image which has since gone viral.
The questions in the interview were created by my high school advanced art students. We cover race, racism, political art, copyright issues, and more. We also make connections to the creative process and the importance of collaboration, sketching, re-working ideas, seeking feedback, and working through visual problems.
